Michael Hallett is the Founder and Managing Director of DHDS Pty Ltd (Deep Hole Drilling Specialists), a proudly Australian, veteran-owned engineering company he established in 2001. Under Michael's leadership, DHDS has grown from a specialist machining business into one of Australia's leading providers of deep hole drilling and precision engineering services, supporting the defence, aerospace, mining, rail, heavy engineering, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Before founding DHDS, Michael served in the Australian Defence Force, where he developed the discipline, resilience, and leadership principles that continue to influence both his approach to business and the culture of the company. His military service instilled a strong commitment to precision, accountability, teamwork, and delivering results under demanding conditions. These values remain at the core of DHDS today.
Since establishing the business in 2001, Michael has been committed to building an organisation recognised for engineering excellence, innovation, and customer trust. Through his hands-on leadership and strategic vision, he has overseen continual investment in advanced manufacturing technologies, skilled personnel, and operational capability, ensuring DHDS remains at the forefront of precision engineering.
